- I have been teaching for 24 years. My first two years of teaching were at a boarding School on the Navajo Reservation in Arizona. The rest of my years of teaching have been here in Ladue. I was a First Grade Teacher at Spoede when I first began teaching in Ladue. Later, I became a Reading Recovery Teacher and a Reading Specialist and worked at several schools. I have been a Spoede Turtle, a Reed Panther, and now am proud to be an Old Bonhomme Eagle! My main role is helping students in K-2 learn to become confident, independent readers and writers. I am grateful to be working with such amazing children, parents and colleagues at Old Bonhomme.
- A few more facts about me...
- I have lived in St. Louis most of my life, but during my school-age years, my family and I lived in Central Illinois.
- I have a B.S. in Elementary Education from Illinois State University.
- I received a certification in Reading Recovery from the University of Arkansas.
- I earned a M.A.T. in Education with an Specialty in Reading from Webster University.
- My husband and I have a daughter who is almost 17 years old, and a twelve year old son. We also have a Shih-tsu named Callie. Our weekends and nights are taken up with homework, swimming, basketball, and Boy Scouts. I am anxiously trying to slow down time because my "babies" are growing up way too fast!
- I love to read, watch movies, travel, and be with my friends and family.
